Popular as a Christmas Tree since Victorian times
The Norway Spruce Xmas Tree is what most people over 30 think of as the traditional tree at Christmas time. It has the traditional shape and beautiful scent of pine when you enter the room on Christmas morning, although the needles can be problematic with pets and small children. The Norway Spruce is best left to outdoor sites or cool rooms as warm buildings and central heating exacerbate the needle drop of cut trees. The needles are a dark green colour and the branches strong and stiff to make decorating easier.
